Ami Bera. This District includes portions of Sacramento\, Placer\, and El Dorado counties\, as well as all of Nevada County. \nAs a Supervisor\, Robb has stood up for meaningful solutions to protect public safety\, support small businesses and create jobs\, and protect our quality of life through a responsible balance of growth\, development\, and agriculture. Now\, he’s running for Congress to take that solutions-oriented leadership to Washington\, D.C. \nRobb Tucker’s approach to federal policy comes straight out of his years on the Nevada County Board of Supervisors. County government is where you see\, up close\, whether a federal program actually works or just adds another layer of red tape. Robb has had to stitch together mismatched state and federal funding streams just to keep a shelter open or fund basic mental health care\, and he’s watched permitting delays and excessive fees stall housing and forest health projects for years\, leaving county officials to explain to neighbors why nothing is getting built. \nThat experience shapes a simple governing philosophy: keep decisions close to the people whenever possible\, and hold Washington strictly accountable for the things only the federal government can do: securing the border\, managing public forest lands\, enforcing interstate commerce law\, protecting taxpayers. He knows that Washington should stop burying rural counties in unfunded mandates that drain local budgets and choke off regional economies. \nLearn more about his platform on his website.

SUMMARY:CCW Annual Meeting Featuring Judge Daniel Kolkey
DESCRIPTION:The CCW Annual Meeting will include the election of Officers and Directors\, as well as a post-election presentation by retired Appellate Court Associate Justice Daniel M. Kolkey. \nA retired partner in the San Francisco office of Gibson Dunn\, Mr. Kolkey chaired the firm’s California Appellate Law Practice Group for over a decade\, served as President of the California Supreme Court Historical Society from 2022 to 2025 (at which he remains a board member)\, and drafted California’s current international commercial arbitration statute in 2024. \nJudge Kolkey has advised four different governors on legal issues\, and served as Governor Pete Wilson’s and Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger’s lead negotiator for tribal-state compacts under the Indian Gaming Regulatory Act. \nPrior to being appointed as an Associate Justice on the California Court of Appeal\, Mr. Kolkey served as Legal Affairs Secretary and counsel to Governor Pete Wilson for four years. As such\, he was responsible for all of the legal advice within the Governor’s Office; approving all state agency appeals; supervising and directing litigation strategy with respect to lawsuits brought against the Governor in his official capacity; drafting the Governor’s civil justice reform legislation; and negotiating tribal-state compacts under the Indian Gaming Regulatory Act. \nHe has a wealth of information to share and we look forward to his perspective on the California election results and key international issues impacting the USA. \nSAVE THE DATE!  RSVP page coming soon!
