Assemblyman Tangipa is learning how to navigate the Supermajority in the California Assembly
David Tangipa was elected to State Assembly District 8 in 2024 to advocate for Calaveras, Fresno, Inyo, Madera, Mariposa, Mono, and Tuolumne counties. Prior to being elected to the Legislature, Tangipa worked in real estate and with Fresno County.
Assemblyman Tangipa is a proud first-generation American and son of a veteran. He was born and raised in Sacramento and has lived his entire adult life in Fresno. He attended Fresno State and played tight end for the Bulldogs where he learned the importance of discipline, hard work, and spirit of the Central Valley.
After earning a bachelor’s degree in Political Science and Criminology, as well as a master’s in Business Administration with an emphasis in marketing, David embarked on a career helping people live the American dream of owning a home.
David is passionate about serving his community and is involved with Fresno County Athletic Hall of Fame, Fresno State Bulldog Foundation, and Fresno State Football Alumni.
Recently, he was the plaintiff in the case to overturn Proposition 50, a ballot measure supported by Governor Newsom to eliminate five Republican Congressional Districts in California.
